A hit filled evening was had by all at The National Concert Hall last night, when 70's & 80's legendary hitmaker Billy Ocean took to the stage to perform all his greatest hits, of which there were many! Backed by his splendid band and a suitably night clubbish light show, we were treated to all the hits from dance classics, 'Love Really Hurts', 'Red Light Spells Danger', 'When The Going Gets Tough', 'Carribean Queen' to ballads 'Long & Winding Road' and 'Suddenly'.. As expected the entire audience were on their feet, reliving their youths, no doubt, clapping and dancing to the beat! It was a pleasure to have a chat with Billy after the show and he was a gentleman and was thrilled with the warm welcome he received and hopes to return to Ireland in the near future! The show opened with support from Jacqui Sharkey, who has a similar sound to the legendary Anne Murray, so much so that Jacqui will perform her own show entitled 'You Needed Me - The Life & Music Of Anne Murray', at the National Concert Hall on May 31st... A great voice and no doubt a show well worth a visit to!
