ALICE IN FUNDERLAND ...THE ABBEY THEATRE DUBLIN.. MAY 5TH 2012..

Last night I caught a performance of a new musical, premiering at Ireland's world famous Abbey Theatre.. Billed as the first musical to play the Abbey stage in 20years, this modern reworking of the classic 'Alice In Wonderland' tale, sets the action in Dublin, with a premise concerning Alice who gets lost in the big city while on a

hen night.. During the course of the night she comes across various eccentric and wayward characters, from a foul mouth drag queen, a roller skating gay, a hooker or two and retribates of all kinds..  With some very good original songs to an energetic cast, 'Alice in Funderland' is worth a look.. However the show including the interval, clocked in at 3 hours, which is a little long for the material..
