Over the years I have attended the shows of the very talented Ennio Marchetto, who describes himself as "The Living Paper Cartoon". Ennio who was born in Venice and began his career in the 80's, launched his European career at the 1989 Edinburgh Festival. His unique show features hundreds of characters, all made from cardboard and paper and can include everyone from Dolly Parton to Doris Day and he does a mighty Liza as a finale! This performance I attended at The Wadsworth Theatre on Wilshire Blve Brentwood. I was in Los Angeles, staying at the Beverly Wilshire and Ennio happened to be appearing here. The Wadsworth is set in the grounds of the Veterans Administration and it's not easy to get without a car! We arrived in a cab and found it impossible to get one back. But luckily we were dropped off on Sunset Blvd by a couple who live in the Hollywood Hills and who volunteer to usher at the Theatre.
Ennio has appeared in Dublin over the years and will feature his Irish date in a future post! Shown here are the Flyer,Playbill and a ticket from this event..
