TIPPI HEDREN IN CONVERSATION / THE GIRL .. BFI SOUTHBANK .. AUGUST 16TH 2012..

As part of their extensive season 'The Genius Of Hitchcock', The BFI on London's Southbank invited the legendary Hitchcock leading lady Tippi Hedren to discuss her work and relationship with Alfred Hitchcock while she was filming the classics 'The Birds' and 'Marnie', as well as to talk about her input into the new BBC film 'The Girl' starring Toby Jones as Hitch with Sienna Miller as Tippi.. Readers of this blog will know I have been to many events with Tippi and was delighted to pop over from Dublin to catch this event as well as the screening of the new film which followed the talk...In between both events,  I was delighted to attend the BBC drinks reception for Tippi and talk host, the prolific biographer Donald Spoto who wrote a number of books on Hitchcock, including 'Spellbound by Beauty', which I was delighted to get signed by Donald.. I enjoyed the screening of 'The Girl' with both Jones and Miller giving wonderful performances along with a supporting cast including Imelda Staunton and Penelope Wilton.. Well worth a look when the film screens next month on BBC and in October on HBO in the USA.. A dvd release is scheduled for January 2013...
With Donald & Tippi at pre-screening reception in BFI'S Blue Room...
