I have been busy with other projects and my blog for Joan Collins and Rebecca Storm to expand this blog, but with every good intention here is my first post for 2012! I have been attending many events since last posted, so hopefully will catch up! I braved the artic weather in February to pop over from Dublin to Wolverhampton to catch one of my favourite ladies, Stefanie Powers in a new stage version of the now classic Oscar winning film 'On Golden Pond'. Of  course the piece was a stage play before the film and delighted to see this revival. Co-starring with Stefanie is the legendary British actor Richard Johnson who starred classic films such as 'The Haunting' & 'Khartoum', to cult horror release 'Zombie Flesh Eaters', to blockbusters 'Lara Croft Tomb Raider'.. Both play the roles of Ethel and Norman Thayer, portrayed in the film by Henry Fonda and Katherine Hepburn.. 'Casualty' star Elizabeth Carling plays their daughter Chelsea along with a superb supporting cast, this touching and funny play is well worth braving the blizzard conditions I had to endure to reach the theatre..
 Set in Maine it tells the simple story of an elderly couple who visit their Summer cabin every season to experience the beauty of nature and observe the nearby nest of Loons.. When their daughter arrives with her son and new beau, the strained relationship between father and daughter comes to ahead.

. The play is currently touring the UK, with stops as I write Darlington, Guilford, Worthing, Eastbourne, Lichfield and ending on April 21st in Plymouth.. See flyer on page for dates.... I had a lovely chat backstage with Stefanie and Richard, some photo's included.. Stefanie will be touring the USA next with 'Sunset Blvd'...Watch this space!
