DIONNE WARWICK .... CITYWEST HOTEL DUBLI N .. SEPTEMBER 3RD 2010

DIONNE & DAVID

One of my favourite singers of all time is the legendary Dionne Warwick and I have seen her many times over the years.. I caught her again on Friday evening at the City West Hotel and Golf Club where she performed all her classic hits, that seem to sound better as the years roll by. From "Walk on By" to "Alfie".. "A Message To Michael" not to mention "Anyone Who Had A Heart".. From duets with her son David Elliot on an updated versions of "Say a Little Prayer" to a Latin tinged remix of "Do You Know The Way To San Jose" and her 80's comeback hit "Heartbreaker". Apart from the many hits, the only non Dionne hits performed were her tribute to her favourite place Brazil, she performed three songs, the most famous "Aquarela Do Brasil".. No Dionne show would be complete without her Barry Manilow produced hit "I'll never Love This Way Again" and David returned to duet on the smash  "That's What Friends Are For".. Accompanied by her regular musicians and the always wonderful Kathy Rubbicco on piano and conducting duties, a first rate evening of quality and classic entertainment is always guaranteed.. I am looking forward to seeing Dionne and her superstar friends in London on January 9th at the Apollo Theatre Victoria for the World Hunger Day "Dionne & Friends" Gala show...I will be in Birmingham the evening before to see Joan in "Dick Whittington".. as they say watch this space!!
